Her postgraduate training included residencies in general, plastic, and reconstructive surgery at Keck, where she also served as a clinical instructor and earned a Master of Education from USC’s Rossier School of Education.

Currently, Dr. Grunwald serves as the Division Chief of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery and Executive Medical Director of the Women’s Health and Wellness Institute at Providence Saint John's Health Center. She is affiliated with prestigious organizations including the American College of Surgeons, American Society of Plastic Surgery, and the Association for Women Surgeons. Dr. Grunwald has been honored with the Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), the Patients’ Choice Award, and the distinction of being named one of America’s Top Breast Surgeons.
